Bhastrika
भस्त्रिका
/bahs-TREE-kah/Prāṇāyāmajal tier practice
Bellows breath — rapid, forceful inhalations and exhalations through the nose, pumping prāṇa through the system like a blacksmith's bellows. Bhastrika generates intense heat (tapas), awakens kuṇḍalinī, and burns through tamas. It is the most aggressive prāṇāyāma and must be practiced with precise count and bandha application.
