Antara Kumbhaka
अन्तर कुम्भक
/ahn-TAH-rah koom-BHAH-kah/Prāṇāyāma
Internal breath retention — holding the breath after inhalation, with the lungs full. This is the primary kumbhaka for building prāṇic pressure and activating the suṣumṇā. Antara kumbhaka increases tejas and charges the system with the energy needed for intensive pattern confrontation.
