Suṣumṇā
सुषुम्ना
/soo-SHOOM-nah/Foundational
The central nāḍī, running from the base of the spine (mūlādhāra) to the crown (sahasrāra). Dormant in the ordinary state, it activates when Iḍā and Piṅgalā are brought into equilibrium. The KALKI system treats suṣumṇā activation as the physiological correlate of viveka — the bandwidth expansion that makes pattern recognition possible.
