Ujjāyī
उज्जायी
/oo-JAH-yee/Prāṇāyāma
Victorious breath — a gentle constriction of the glottis that produces a soft, oceanic hissing sound during both inhalation and exhalation. Ujjāyī creates a slight back-pressure that warms the air, slows the breath, and activates the baroreceptor reflex. It is the default breath during all KALKI practice sessions.
