Overview
A pattern where detachment has calcified into dissociation. You observe everything — your emotions, your relationships, your life — from a remove that feels spiritual but is actually a defense. The shadow: the Witness has confused the witness-consciousness of Vedanta with the dissociation of trauma. You are present, but not here.

Origin
Formed when the child learned to split awareness — to be present in body but absent in spirit — as a survival response to overwhelming environments. The detachment that saved them then now prevents them from living. Often misidentified in spiritual circles as "advanced witnessing" when it is actually the opposite: a refusal to be affected.
Prescribed Sādhana
Kumbhaka with Cakra Dharna — deliberately placing attention in the heart and pelvic centers (not just the third eye) to rebuild the capacity for embodied feeling. The practice must include emotional check-ins: "What am I feeling right now, and where is it in my body?" Journal prompt: "Am I witnessing, or am I hiding?"
